Jessica Shiflet

Vice-President, Investment Services

At a very young age, Jessica’s grandfather predicted she would grow up and establish a career in Finance. As a child, Jessica would spend hours entertaining herself sorting her grandfather’s spare change, as she grew, her fascination with money grew as well. Jessica entered the workforce at age 12, determined to help others, she cleaned homes for the elderly through a program managed by the York Area Agency on Aging. Only earning wages of $1 per hour, she saved and took pride in her monthly bike rides to York Federal Savings and Loan to deposit her earnings. The passbook savings account quickly grew and at age 15 she bought her first car. In high school, Jessica was nominated and received the Business Award from her high school accounting teacher. Following high school, she attended college at Colorado State University in Fort Collins CO, pursuing a business degree. Faced with challenges, Jessica left school before completing her degree and moved back to her hometown of York, Pennsylvania. While taking care of her grandfather, who battled Alzheimer’s, family and friends continued to encourage her to seek out her dreams of working in the world of finance. She was hired at York Federal Saving and Loan in 1997, Jessica was thrilled to finally have her foot in the door. Within two years of joining York Federal she became a licensed Financial Advisor and Life and Health agent within their brokerage division, First Capital Brokerage. Jessica worked closely with First Capital’s president and fellow seasoned Financial Advisors gaining the experience and knowledge required to advise her own clients.

After 21 years, she is still putting her client’s best interests first, managing relationships with most of whom have been clients or descendants of clients since the early years of First Capital Brokerage. Jessica’s passion for assisting others has always been the driving force behind her career.
